Mitigating mismatch power loss of series–parallel and total-cross-tied array configurations using novel enhanced heterogeneous hunger games search optimizer

The location of shaded or faulty Photovoltaic modules in the PV array has a negative impact on harvested power from entire array. To overcome this significant limitation, reconfiguration is considerable technique developed via interchanging modules’ physically electrically. By inspiration, article, authors propose novel enhanced heterogeneous hunger games search optimizer (EHHGS) based reconfiguration. innovated EHHGS introduces modified variant for basic game (HGS) to achieve high diversity and robust exploitation optimal solutions. applied identify relocation two configurations connected array: total-cross-tied (TCT) Series–parallel one (S–P). proposed approach symmetric asymmetric arrays with dimensions 9 × 10 8 throughout five different shade patterns. Moreover, providing flexible tool user/researcher detect observe benefits achieved strategy, simple graphical user interface (GUI) strategy TCT S–P using meta-heuristic algorithms designed. This implemented GUI can extend any size arrays, optimization algorithms, connection schemes. EHHGS, HGS, set recent optimizers, including harris hawk (HHO), marine predators algorithm (MPA), artificial ecosystem-based (AEO), handle new simplified objective function boost optimizer’s ability catching alleviate mismatched studied arrays. Several statistical metrics are computed an unbiased comparison. Through comparisons, exhibits superior performance. It achieves best re-design considered that helps avoiding mismatch losses cases partial shaded/faulty enhances generated profiles. by percentages 44.42%, 11.9%, 33.36%, 20. 86% 13.17% compared TCT-connected system.
